BAYERN EYEING BREMEN DEFENDER

German Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich are in the market for a new defender after David Alaba made the decision to leave the club in the summer. Bayern Munich utility player David Alaba will leave the club for free this summer at the end of his contract with the Bavarian giants and he has been linked with a lot of European clubs. Clubs like Real Madrid, Liverpool and Manchester City. Several media reports claimed that Real Madrid are in the driving seat to sign the Austrian international player on a free transfer in the summer.

Bayern Munich will need a new defender as a replacement for the outgoing David Alaba and popular German newspaper SportBild revealed that Bayern Munich want to sign Werder Bremen left-back Marco Friedl as a replacement for the aforementioned David Alaba. Marco Friedl is a regular for Werder Bremen in the German Bundesliga. The 22-year-old Austrian international is not a stranger to David Alaba as they are teammates at international level. Marco Friedl has played 21 times for Werder Bremen in all competitions this season, including 20 times in the German Bundesliga.

Werder Bremen star Marco Friedl is also a utility player just like David Alaba. Marco Friedl and David Alaba can both play as a left-back and as a centre back though David Alaba is more of an utility player than the Werder Bremen player due to the fact that he can play well in midfield or in attack. David Alaba was a feature in the Bayern Munich defence that won the UEFA Champions League last season by beating French giants Paris Saint Germain (PSG) 1-0 in the final. David Alaba and Bayern Munich won three trophies last season and they have already added three more trophies this season. The Bavarian giants have won six trophies in the space of seven months.
