Manuel Neuer is making an impact around the world of football

It’s hard to deny that Lionel Messi is the absolute player in the world; the Argentine superstar has broken and continues to break all the records and earns more titles with Barcelona. In football, the attacking players are the ones who are usually in the spotlight of the media and receive the most attention but when it comes to the rest of the team, they aren’t so lucky.

Defenders and goal-keepers are still highly praised and receive their own kind of recognition but not as much compared to the players who are scoring the goals.

Bayern Munich’s Manuel Neuer is the goal-keeper who is making most waves as the German player seems to be on a level beyond everyone else with amazing saves that has helped not only Bayern Munich in lifting titles but also Germany in the international stage.

Neuer has a playing style which is very different compared to other players in his position as the German shot-stopper tends to go upfront and tackles in attempts to steal the ball or deliver a pass and he succeeds in doing it on a regular basis.

Barcelona’s Marc-Andre terStegen attempted to copy it by delivering a poor clearance which led to Athletic Club’s San Jose scoring a goal during Barcelona’s Super Cup match.

SergiuszPrusak is a Polish shot-stopper who has also been inspired by Manuel Neuer and Prusak attempted to replicate the German player by moving away from his own box in an attempt to take the ball away from a player of Lechia Gdansk but it only resulted with Prusak receiving a red card and having to leave the pitch.

Neuer is even being admired by youth’s and this was evidenced by the young shot-stopper of Nottingham Forerest, Tim Erlandsson who was recently signed by the Championship League League club and upon making his arrival to his new club, Erlandsson praised Neuer as he said:

“For me I just have to say Manuel Neuer is my idol. Because obviously I am a goalkeeper and he is just the best ‘keeper in the world really.”

Manuel Neuer finished in 3rd place as one of the candidates of winning the FIFA Ballon d’Or but if he continues making amazing performances, he might just lift this title. The only goal-keeper that has ever won it was Lev Yashin back in 1963.
