West Ham Secures a Shocking Win at Chelsea

West Ham has secured a shocking win against Chelsea on Saturday at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea was defeated by 1-0. The goal in the second half scored by Aaron Cresswell has led Chelsea to suffer back-to-back defeats in the Premier League. Chelsea is still in 4th place. However, Tottenham has reduced the gap to 7 points as they bagged a win over Bournemouth. According to West Ham, their lead had been double after sixty-seven minutes with the help of Michail Antonio but the goal had been disallowed as a handball by VAR.

With the victory, West Ham steered 4 points clear of the relegation places and eased out the pressure that Manuel Pellegrini had been experiencing. Aston Villa is being hosted by Frank Lampard’s side in the middle of the week while West Ham is going to visit the Wolves. Lampard has said that he strongly believes in the team and is shown some great things in the season. However, according to him, they have played below the mark and it is time to see how they play against Aston Villa. He says that they didn’t do enough in the final third and that has been their story since the last 3 games.

Prior to the match, Chilean Pellegrini appeared as if he was in danger of becoming the 3rd manager of the London Premier League this month to lose out on this job after Unai Emery was dismissed by Arsenal and Mauricio Pochettino has been dismissed by Tottenham Hotspur.

Pellegrini said that for him, the most difficult thing in the week was not about his job or future but was to make that the player isn’t going to change and that they are doing the ideal thing. David Martin, the goalkeeper of West Ham said that it doesn’t feel real and he is absolutely pleased to go through it. He says that he didn’t let anyone down and have enjoyed the game.
